Intro:
Betsy Andreu, the wife of Frankie Andreu, a former team mate of Lance Armstrong, speaks at a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) symposium in Lausanne, Switzerland on Tuesday.
Script:
SOUNDBITE (English) Betsy Andreu: (Q. 'Can you tell me how many drugs Lance (Armstrong) said he was using?)
"Lance said he was using testosterone, steroids, EPO, cortisone and growth hormone."
SOUNDBITE (English) Betsy Andreu:
"Cycling by far, I think in my opinion, has done more than any other sport to clean up its act. Cycling is no any different than any other sport or than any other job that's gonna have unethical lawyers, politicians, businessmen, doctors, and that's the same for athletes, so the best we can do is try to deter it."
SOUNDBITE (English) Betsy Andreu: (on Lance Armstrong's plan to ride the Tour de France route ahead of this year's race)
"No, I think, he's so afraid of not being talked about. He's really afraid of becoming irrelevant, so I really look forward for the day when he says he's gonna do something…people will just say, ok, whatever."
SOUNDBITE (English) Betsy Andreu:
"Well look, I'm answering your question, right? I'm talking about it because he won't stop, and I think there was this fascination with… this guy is shameless, he has no remorse, he is not made amends, yet he's still… he just doesn't want to go away… Why? Just why? I think there is this fascination with him not wanting... him doing what he is doing, because normal people can't understand that. They would be embarrassed, they would be shamed, they would have regrets, not him. As long as he has his name in the headlines, he seems to be ok with that."
