  • Intro:

Jaco Ahlers won the Investec Cup on Sunday (22nd March) after beating Jaco Van Zyl on the third playoff hole at Lost City in South Africa.

    Script:

It was all South Africa at the top of the leaderboard as the funal round of the Investec Cup took place in the most northern point of South Africa.

Charl Schwartzel carded a three under 69 to finish tied in 5th.

Jaco Alhers was one of four men who led overnight and he dropped to seven under for the day when he set himself up for birdie at the 13th.

Jaco Van Zyl was another at the top at the start of play, yet this birdie at 14 left him four off Alhers' lead with five to play.

They had George Coetzee for company until the South African shanked his drive into the shrubs.

He then overflew the approach which resulted in a double bogey six as he finished tied for third.

Into a play-off and Van Zyl lost his ball in the water on the third play-off hole, giving Alhers two for victory.

Ahlers kept his nerve after Van Zyl and secured his third professional win.
