"I think the boys at the end of the game, I've never seen such a coragious performance out of a group of players and I'm hugely proud of what that England team has shown out there today and throughout the championship. Obviously we've come up short in the end but the mindset to play and the ability to keep going at a high quality French team and score the tries that we did, was a testament to the spirit and character that we've got."

"To win the game against France is a big target, to win the game by 26 points is a huge target. I think we were a little bit guilty of doing what we didn't want to do and that's actually try and overplay sometimes. We scored a fantastic first try, but obviously the two tries they scored immediately after that put a real dent in our belief."

"I'm sure the Southern Hemisphere looked at those games and thought, where's that come from? Because in the previous games, they were probably looking at a completely different type of game. But I think it shows the Southern Hemisphere, and obviously I didn't see all the other games, that ball in hand, on a dry day, there's some great talent in the Northern Hemisphere."
