Beatiful conditions greeted Canadian Eugenie Bouchard and CoCo Vandeweghe in the BNP Paribas Open.

Sixth seed Bouchard eased into the fourth round with a straight sets win, in a match which lasted just an hour and five minutes. Winning 6-3, 6-2.

Bouchard will face either France's Alize Cornet or Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko in the next round

Elsewhere Maria Sharapova defeated Victoria Azarenka in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 on her sixth match point in a third-round pairing of former world number ones.

Sharapova hit 23 winners, one more than Azarenka, and had 10 fewer unforced errors than Azarenka's 37 to even their all-time series at seven wins apiece.

Azarenka fought off four match points on her serve in the eighth game to hold trailing 5-3.

They duelled through five deuces until Azarenka fired a big serve to keep herself in the match.

Sharapova took a 40-15 lead to set up her fifth match point, but netted a forehand.

She converted on her sixth one with a dipping crosscourt backhand that Azarenka couldn't return near the net.

Sharapova will meet defending champion Flavia Pennetta in the fourth round.

"I think it's always a good challenge, playing against Vica (Azarenka) early in the tournament. We haven't played in a really long time so, just seeing each other's game again, even though we know it's familiar and we've played many times, you still have to get used to the bounce and the serving patterns and things like that. I didn't serve so well in the first set, that's something I improved in the second. I think that's something that made it lot of easier for me."
