Germany's Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) announce that they will recommend Hamburg as a bid city for the 2024 Olympic Games.

"This is not a decision against one of the two cities, but for the city that will apply for the Olympic and Paralympic games 2024 and 2028 and the unified proposition of the board of the German Olympic Association is Hamburg."

"I would like to state that the common opinion that the 2024 games have already gone to Boston is to be questioned. The latest news from this city points out that there are a lot of open questions as there are in any other city in this early stage."

"You know that Paris is still in a decision process as well as other cities and countries, so we will have to be patient for another few month. The application period ends on September 15th and than we will see how big our chances really are."
