Coetzee secures Tshwane Open victory

    George Coetzee clinched his second European Tour title on Sunday (15th March) with victory in the Tshwane Open in Centurion, South Africa.

    Perfect weather greeted players on the fourth and final day of the Tshwane Open in South Africa.

    Jacques Blaauw started the day five shots off the pace, but the South African was in spectacular form as he carded a sensational round of 61 on the day.

    Five under at the turn, he continued his streak of birdies on the back nine.

    He birdied 17 and 18 to ensure that he held the lead at the end of his round, with a score of 13-under overall and nine-under for the day.

    However, it wasn't enoug to secure the victory.

    Overnight leader, Georgee Coetzee was playing on his home course at the Pretoria Country Club and used his knowledge of the course to his advantage.

    The South African carded a flawless round of 65, with two birdies in the back nine, enough to see him reach a total of 14-under-par.

    The result means Coetzee secured his second European Tour title ahead of Jacques Blaauw.
