The final round of action at the 2015 HSBC Women's Champions Trophy saw the top three players in the world battling it out over the Serapong course in Sentosa, Singapore.

World number one Lydia Ko of New Zealand was lying in second place overnight - and the 17-year-old sensation carded three birdies in the first seven holes.

That was the par-5 4th, this approach led to birdie at the fifth and she also picked up a shot at the 7th.

But three bogeys at the eighth, 12th and 13th put pay to her chances and she eventually finished even-par for the day to take second spot.

World number three Stacy Lewis, who was joint-second with Ko going into the final round, also had an inconsistent day.

Her bid for a second HSBC title fell apart following an erratic performance on the back nine.

She needed her caddy's help to retrieve the ball from the tree at the 12th hole and while she did well to salvage a par, it wasn't championship-winning form for the 30-year-old American.

By contrast, South Korea's Inbee Park was a model of consistency.

She carded two birdies on the day.

One here at the seventh. And also the par-4 11th as she comfortably claimed her first HSBC Women's Champions trophy.

The 26-year-old shot a two-under 70 to finish on 15-under-par - with no bogeys on her card for the fourth consecutive day - as the world number two sealed her 13th LPGA Tour victory.

    SOUNDBITE: (English) Inbee Park:

"Yeah, it was a tough day today - but I'm extremely honoured to win the HSBC Women's champions where I wasn't able to play well the last seven years - but I was able to pull it off this year and with the great finish. I was bogey-free for 72 holes, I'm just so proud of myself - and I would really like to thank the HSBC for holding a great tournament and it's a true world-class tournament and I love to play in."
