  • Intro:

Hull manager Steve Bruce reflects on his side's 1-1 draw with Sunderland, and his scuffle with Gus Poyet which led to the Uruguayan being sent off.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English) Steve Bruce, Hull City manager:

"I don't really know, if I'm being honest. I don't know what I've supposed to have done. We all do stupid, stupid things and tomorrow morning we wake up to all stupid headlines. To be fair, it was 'handbags' (pointless argument). The big critical thing was, I think Gus had seen it different about Jack Rodwell diving to gain an advantage and the referee got it right. And I think by his reaction to that Gus, he must have thought he'd seen it the other way. So that was that really. I don't know what I'm supposed to have done, but here you go.

"I thought we had the best opportunities, that why we're disappointed more than my antics. We're disappointed we gave a soft goal away and we've had two or three, four really, really good opportunities without my goalkeeper having to make a save really. And I was pleased the way we played. I thought we played very, very well and on another night.... we needed the second one to go in and unfortunately it didn't."
