SOUNDBITE (English) Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool manager:

"I thought it was an excellent performance. I thought that Burnley have shown this year that they are a difficult team to play against, especially when they’re on their travels. But as good as our performance was at the weekend (following 2-1 win over Man City in the Premier League) this was equally as good in a different way. Organisation defensively was very good, again another team with no shots on target and they've got players that can cause you a problem. And we scored two goals and had opportunities to make the game more comfortable. Very professional and delighted with the performance and the result."

SOUNDBITE (English) Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool manager:

"Over the last three months the games have been coming thick and fast but the players have stood up to that. They've achieved the objectives that we've wanted to. Now we arrive with ten league games to go and it's a period in the season that we're going to really look forward to. The nature of our game is based on the confidence to play and to pass and to move and you can see aligned with that the pressing in our game is very good. We've put ourselves in a very good position but there's still a lot of work to go but this moment in time thankfully we're at a good level and we'll continue with that."

SOUNDBITE (English) Sean Dyche, Burnley manager:

"Some games when you think you're miles off it...I thought they were very good tonight and there's a difference. That doesn't mean we can still add to our game. Of course we gave away chances to easily in the game. (Goalkeeper) Tom (Heaton) was on terrific form. Second half, we gave away a really poor goal. That from our point of view and how we operate is a poor goal. The first one can happen - high quality player (and) it's a good strike. But the second one was a really poor goal I felt. And at one-nil you never know, we're still in with a fight. And we've shown that before, we keep going. And I thought the players did keep going but I just thought that tonight they were on real good form, and they are in form in general of course."
