  • Intro:

Reaction after Chelsea lifted the English League Cup at Wembley Stadium following a 2-0 victory over fellow London side Tottenham Hotspur.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English) Kyle Walker, Tottenham Hotspur defender:

"The keeper can't really do much with deflections. I mean, that's come off of me for the second, probably it's unlucky. I think you just have to get over it but I thought fair credit to the lads. It's a young squad, I think we took the game to Chelsea in the first half and then obviously we've had to come out in the second half and we kind of haven't got the rub of the green today."

SOUNDBITE (English) Hugo Lloris, Tottenham Hotspur captain:(On being named captain and leading side out).

"Of course, it was a good moment to share with all my team-mates. Unfortunately, we didn't get the trophy but I think it's a good experience and a step for a young team. And we're going to try to build up from this game and I'm sure it will make us stronger and better for the future."

SOUNDBITE (English) Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur forward:

"Yeah, gutted. Gutted for the players, for the team-mates, for the staff, for the club itself. I thought we gave it go. We gave it our all, I thought we played the way we wanted to play and it just didn't go for us today. Both their goals, you could say it was a bit scrappy, a bit lucky but that's the difference in the top games on the big stage and it went Chelsea's way today but, yeah, we've got to dust ourselves off and move on as quick as possible."

SOUNDBITE (English) Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur forward:

"I think everyone's proud of themselves. First season, we've got a very young team and a new coaching staff and I thought we gave a good account of ourselves. A lot of us playing in our first final and, yeah, it's an experience and we've got to learn from it. When you see Chelsea lifting that trophy, it makes the fire in your belly burn. You want to be back and you want to be lifting that trophy and that's what we've got to look to do with the squad we have."

SOUNDBITE (English) Harry Kane, Tottenham Hotspur forward:(On a possible England call-up).

"Yeah, it'd be nice of course. I've always said if I'm picked, it'd be a very proud moment but, again, I've just got to keep focused on the games ahead and try and do the best for Tottenham Hotspur and then, if I'm picked, obviously I'd be delighted."
