SOUNDBITE (Italian) Roberto Donadoni, Parma coach:

"Will I be sanctioned, will I be disqualified for a situation like this? Well I would be proud and happy if I were. It's the others who should be feeling ashamed for getting disqualified over betting on matches or deceiving people. In these circumstances my situation is only a light burden for me to carry."

SOUNDBITE (Italian) Alessandro Lucarelli, Parma captain:

"Why did we choose not to play? Well we asked for concern and protection from the Italian football institutions regarding Parma's situation. Last week I said that if we do see that concern we would be ready to even pay to play in Genoa ourselves, but nothing happened. There were no calls, there was no interest showed for Parma, so we decided to go in this direction."

SOUNDBITE (Italian) Alessandro Lucarelli, Parma captain:

"None of the Italian Football Federation's top management got off their chairs to come here to Parma and take a look, so our decision not to play was only initiated due to this lack of interest".
