Nishikori and Ferrer survive scares

Sunday, March 01 2015 by SNTV
  • Intro:

Top seed Kei Nishikori beat Kevin Anderson and David Ferrer came back from a set down to win against Ryan Harrison in the Mexico Open semi-finals.

    Script:

Top seed Kei Nishikori is through to the final of Mexico Open. He won the first set of his semi-final against Kevin Anderson 6-2.

But the 6ft 8 South African fought back in the second set, he won this rally which helped him break serve in the sixth game.

And he went on to win the set 6-3 to send the match into a decider.

That was the first set Nishikori has lost in this year's tournament and he responded with class. Even when Anderson was aggresive, the Japanese was just too good.

He took the set 6-3 to reach the final and with it move up to number four in the world rankings.

He could yet break into the top three, if he can beat David Ferrer.

The Spaniard came from a set down to win his semi-final against Ryan Harrison. The American won the first set 6-4.

But my word did things change, Ferrer won the next two sets to love.

He's lost just one match this season, although that was against Nisikori at the Australian Open. This could be some final.
