SOUNDBITE (English) Eoin Morgan, England captain:

    (On upcoming opponents Sri Lanka)

"I watched the whole game. Sri Lanka look in a good place at the moment. We've played a lot against them recently. I know they rely a lot on their senior players. It's another test for us up against some of the best cricketers. Guys who have played 300-400 games. It will be a really good test and a good challenge."

SOUNDBITE (English) Eoin Morgan, England captain:

(On returning to play at the ground they were easily defeated by New Zealand at)

"We're better for it. If we were to go back to the MCG it wouldn't be any different. We're a better team for it. Having played against a very good side and learned what we did on that day and being able to come back here again and almost getting a second chance you can sit back and say it's cost us a win, but in the long run we're still in the World Cup. We can come back and rectify anything we got wrong."

SOUNDBITE (English) Eoin Morgan, England captain:

(On criticism of him not singing the national anthem)

"It's pretty simple - I've never sung the national anthem when I've played for Ireland or England. It doesn't make me any less proud to be an English cricketer. I'm extremely proud to be in the position that I am in and privileged to be captain of a World Cup side."

SOUNDBITE (English) Eoin Morgan, England captain:

(On the ICC's decision to cut the number of associate teams in the next World Cup)

"I think it'd be a terrible shame. Part of playing in the World Cup, I think the agenda of the ICC should be to spread the good word of the game we play. The more teams we can, within reason, have playing in the big competition the more exposure it gets in their home nation and the more exposure they get against bigger sides."
