Azarenka and Safarova reach final

  • Intro:

Victoria Azarenka came back from a set down to beat Venus Williams to reach the Qatar Open final. Earlier, Lucie Safarova beat Carla Suarez-Navarro in her semi-final.

    Script:

Victoria Azarenka's 13-game winning streak looked like it was coming to an end in the first set of this semi-final against Venus Williams at the Qatar Open.
The American went on to take it 6-2.

The world number 48 responded and how...

After that break the Belarusian went on to win the next three games to send the match to a decider.

That was tight but Azarenka had the chance to serve out the match at 5-4 up and just look what it meant when she did just that to reach her first final in over a year.

She will play Lucie Safarova for the title. The Czech dominated the first set of her semi-final against Spain's Carla Suarez-Navarro.

She went 4-1 up before the number nine seed pulled it back to 4-3. Only for Safarova to up her game once more, she broke again and then served out the set.

In the sixth game of the second set she pulled out a clinical forehand to break serve.

And she never looked back, taking the next two games to book her place in the final.

The world number 15 is just win away from her first WTA Premier title.
