    SOUNDBITE (English) Nic Henning, 9-under:
"No. I didn't. I really had no idea. I knew I was swinging nicely but I haven't made a score like that for many, many years. So it is a really nice surprise."

SOUNDBITE (English) Titch Moore, 8-under (on hole-in-one):
"I got off to a nice start - a couple under. And I got down and it was like a perfect yardage. I pitched it a little bit behind the flag and it spun right back in. It never looked like it was going to miss. But to make one on the card is always special. It actually felt like yesterday really but just awesome."

    SOUNDBITE (English) Nic Henning, 9-under:
"To be honest, I had a quick look at the leaderboard before I teed off and I saw that Titch (Moore) was up there and (Dean) Burmester. And the scores were pretty low - eight under. I know that this week that's the course to make a good score on and have a good start so there's still a hell of a long way to go. The East Course is looming. So it's nice to have a good score under the belt."

    SOUNDBITE (English) Titch Moore, 8-under:
"I played nicely. I hit a lot of greens. I think I only missed two greens out there the whole day. I missed two out of the last three but I gave myself a lot of chances. Putted solid and made a couple of ones that I needed to make for par. But I hit a lot of greens so the whole game is there."

SOUNDBITE (English) Darren Clarke, Par (on Davis Love II announced as US Ryder Cup captain):
"I'm delighted. Davis (Love III) is a very good friend of mine. We have been friends for a long time. We used to play practice rounds together in America. He is a genuinely good man. I am delighted for him that he has been announced. He has had a tough time at Medinah, whenever, he had a big lead going into Sunday but Europe played sensational golf on the Sunday and got the roll on the greens and managed to win but I am sure Davis will be looking for a little bit of - maybe not revenge - but to prove his point. I am sure that the game will be played in the manner that we both think that the game should be played, and it's going to be a very interesting, challenging, great week."

    SOUNDBITE (English) Titch Moore, 8-under:
"I mean that's the big thing. If there is one major that I would like to play - it would be the British Open and it would be at St Andrews. I have played there a few times. In the Dunhill Links I played nicely but obviously St. Andrews is a special place and it will be unbelievable."
