Ul-Haq laments 'bad performances from all-three departments'

  • Intro:

Reaction after the West Indies beat Pakistan by 150 runs in their Cricket World Cup Pool B match on Saturday (21 February) in Christchurch, New Zealand.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE (English) Misbah Ul-Haq, Pakistan captain:

"I mean, there is not a single department where we are not doing bad, I think. Today it was in all three departments. So we need to really come up the next eight, nine days, we really need to work hard. We need to pick up ourselves mentally. Skill-wise we need to really pick up ourselves and come hard in the next games, because now we are at the edge."

SOUNDBITE (English) Misbah Ul-Haq, Pakistan captain:

"As a team, I mean in these conditions we are struggling. We are not just getting used to these pitches while we are batting, especially the new ball. We are not handling it well, and that's it. I think there is nothing wrong in the team and nothing happening. It's not always that something is happening in the team and that's why we're not performing. We completely were outdone by the conditions."
