World number one Lydia Ko had her eyes on the title as the third round of Women's Australian Open teed off at Royal Melbourne.
The New Zealand teenager started play in a three-way tie at six-under but took the lead with her first birdie of the day at the eighth to move to seven-under.
After bogeys on nine and eleven, Ko pulled back into the lead at six-under with a birdie on twelve.
She then added another birdie on fourteen to go to seven-under and once again in sole possession of the lead, before finishing with a 72.
But Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn stayed within striking distance and after getting up and down for birdie on seventeen, the 19-year-old would finish tied with Lydia Ko at the top at seven-under after a 72.
South Korea's Ha-na Jang was the third player to start the day at the top of the leaderbaord, but after playing par golf through the first eleven holes, she tripled-bogeyed twelve to drop to two-under.
Jang recovered with a pair of birdies to finish at three-under after a 76.
That opened the door for compatriot Amy Yang, who got an eagle on fifteen, to take a brief share of the lead, before finishing a shot back of Ko and Jutanugarn.
The big mover on Saturday was Australia's Katherine Kirk, who made a late charge with four birdies in a row that took her to four-under.
Also at four-under after a 70 on Saturday is Julieta Granada of Paraguay.
