SOUNDBITE (English): Phil Jackson, New York Knicks President, on Carmelo Anthony's injury:

"You know, we know that it was a type of surgery that was, is corrective - obviously - and that he could play on it. He could tweak it as he has a number of times this year and cause him some discomfort and inability to play at times. And so, we felt comfortable with him playing in the All-Star Game. I had a meeting with him in London, when we were in London, and we discussed this process of having the surgery sooner than later because we know that the process can take some time for rehab and getting back on the court and we want him to be able to make a full recovery and be ready for this next coming season and the process of not only rehabbing but reconditioning."

SOUNDBITE (English): Phil Jackson, New York Knicks President, on if the team will shed salaries or bring in more players ahead of the trade deadline:

"We're doing both, trying to do both. You know, if that not what, you know? If we can get more cap room great. If not, can we add a player that's going to be a substantial addition to our team in the process so we don't have to add so many team members when we come back next fall."
