  • Intro:

Germany's Andrea Petkovic was handed the Diamond Games trophy in Antwerp after her final opponent Carla Suarez Navarro was forced to withdraw due to a neck injury.

    Script:

A slightly underwhelming end to a good week for Andrea Petkovic.

The third seed got her hands on the Diamond Games trophy -seen here receiving the award from tournament director Kim Clijsters - but didn't have to play the final in Antwerp, after Carla Suarez Navarro pulled out just before the match with a neck injury.

    SOUNDBITE: (English), Andrea Petkovic:

"I was first of all I was shocked because I didn't know anything at all and obviously it just happened this morning, so she didn't know it either I guess. Mixed emotions, twisted hard - even if you are the winner and maybe in ten years nobody will care, you do care because it is not the same winning a title by going out there and playing or just sort of getting handed to it."

Instead, Petkovic gave the Antwerp crowd something to cheer when she played an exhibition match against four time Grand Slam champion Clijsters.

31 year-old Clijsters who came out of retirement for three and-a-half years in 2009 took only the first point to show she can still mix it with the women's elite.

The Belgian's trademark power hitting evident throughout the match - this set up match point and she went on to win 5-3.

The win in Antwerp means that Petkovic is now set to break back into the top ten in the WTA rankings this week.
