Andrew Dodt won the True Thailand Classic on Sunday with a single shot win at 16-under-par overall. It was a tense final with all contenders starting off strongly.

Favourite Miguel Angel Jimenez demonstrated two straight birdies and three bogeys, and ended up one-over-par for the day but still 13-under-par overall.

Local boy Kiradech Aphibarnrat was getting all the support from the home crowd, and administered an excellent tee shot, and sank the putt for a birdie in his third birdie. But two bogeys eventually resulted in a tournament score of 14-under-par.

But although Scott Heard led the tournament at the start of the final, the day belonged to his fellow Australian compatriot Andrew Dodt.

Asserting his dominance from the beginning, Dodt started his round with three straight birdies to catapult his way up the leaderboard.

He continued with two more birdies on the back nine, and displayed no dropped shots. This carded him a five-under-par round of 67, and his 16-under-par overall was enough to win the tournament.

This is Dodt's second European Tour victory overall, and his first in five seasons.
