Intro:
There was dejection in Karachi on Sunday (15 February) as cricket fans watched Pakistan lose to India at the ICC World Cup.
Script:
The greatest rivalry in world cricket - Pakistan against India - was watched by over a billion people on Sunday. And the result left many disappointed Pakistan fans....
SOUNDBITE (English) Shafaq Ahmed, Pakistani cricket fan:
"I think that the team selection was not good because when your team is going for ICC World Cup we should select such participants who are very good at bowling, batting and fielding and all of the field. But when someone is weak in something then we should look into that matter - is he playing well or not? If we talk about Misbah(-ul-Haq, Pakistan captain), we (should) talk about rest of the players. But doesn't matter we have lost the match, next time we will win."
SOUNDBITE (Urdu) Hafiz Mohammad Fahad, Pakistani cricket fan:
"We are disappointed losing to India for the sixth time in a World Cup match. We have never won against India in the World Cup. But we were not there to play a series with India, we are there to play the World Cup. We wanted to create history to win and break the record, which we could not do. But we must remain hopeful and the real contest starts with the quarter-finals on a knock-out basis. After losing today we are not out of the World Cup."
