Top seed Andy Murray lost in straight sets to Gilles Simon and Tomas Berdych beat Gael Monfils in the quarter-finals of the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.

Friday the 13th and Andy Murray was looking for his 13th win in a row against Gilles Simon. But it is the British player who is out of the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.

It would be kind on Murray and very unfair on Simon to put this down to luck. The Frenchman powered into a 5-1 lead in the first set, Murray clawed his way back in it but there was just too much work to do...

The second set was even more comfortable for Simon, he took it 6-2.

He will now face defending champion Tomas Berdych in the semi-finals, the Czech took the first set of his quarter-final against Gael Monfils 6-1.

He had a heavy fall in the third game of the second set and needed some treatment for his wrist.

Which must have worked as he went on to take the set 6-4 and the match to set up his unexpected date on Valentines Day.
