SOUNDBITE (Portuguese) Carlos Arthur Nuzman, Olympic organising committee president

"During the candidacy we had four cities, Belo Horizonte, Sao Paulo, Brasilia and Salvador, in addition to Rio de Janeiro. Today, after a big study and deep work made by the organising committee, in addition to those cities, it approved to include Manaus."

SOUNDBITE (Portuguese) Jose Melo de Oliveira, Amazon state governor

"Our stadium has changing rooms for men and we have to build another two for women for the women's matches. We also have two training centres and we need to build another two training centres. Of the centres that already exist we just need to make some improvements. Those are basic demands from the organisers, but we have the most important thing, which is the reception of how people in the Amazon state receive tourists and foreigners. The Amazon people deserve a gold medal -using Olympic language- because of what they did during the world cup."
