New Zealand were the overwhelming favourites for their home edition of the HSBC Sevens World Series,

The Kiwis had already beaten their opponents - England - in the pool stages 24-5 and were looking for their fourth title in Wellington in five years.

The home side had much of the territory in the first half and went over for the opening score when Dylan Collier outpaced the English defence.

Gillies Kaka would add another for the Kiwis as they led 10-nil after six minutes.

With the All Blacks were reduced to six men by the sin-binning of Joe Webber. England then replied with a try by Marcus Watson that cut the lead to 10-7.

New Zealand scored another two without reply from England, leaving the score at 20-7 when England then capitulated in their own 22.

John Brake losing possession before quick hands from the Kiwis found Rieko Ioane on the wing to go over.

England scored two late tries to give the game a closer look at 27-21.

England move two points off fourth in the overall standings, as the Sevens moves to the United States next week.
