Weather proved the winner at the Bahamas LPGA Classic when only 60 players were able to finish their second round after winds gusting up to 40mph forced a lengthy suspension of play.

The tournament got off to a difficult start after rain delayed the opening day. One player who did make it out onto the green was 26-year-old South Korean Jenny Shin, who is one of four players tied in third.

Also at six-under is 28-year-old American Dori Carter, who is looking to better her record last year of 20 cuts.

Joining Carter at that mark is compatriot and rookie Kelly Shon as well as former world No 1 Inbee Park of South Korea.

Yoo Sun-Young rose from 13th place in the standings to take a share of the lead into the third round. The South Korean shot a 69 at the Ocean Club Golf Course to reach seven-under along with American Brittany Lincicome, who was only able to play five holes of her round before darkness suspended play.
