Intro:
Lee Westwood and Alejandro Canizares share the lead at the Malaysia Open on Friday (6th February) after round two at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.
Script:
Tournament favourite Lee Westwood shares the lead at the Malaysia Open with Spain's Alejandro Canizares after round two.
Graeme McDowell, another tournament favourite, had a disappointing day two - shooting a one-over total for the day to finish on five-under overall - this tee shot to the par-three 8th a rare highlight
Peter Lawrie and Paul Waring fared better.
Lawrie, saving par here on the 14th, shot six-under in his second round, with Waring managing four-under including this birdie on eight to leave the pair tied for fourth place.
Bernd Wiesberger holed out a long putt on the sixth for one of seven birdies in his second round.
The Austrian is three shots off the lead on eight-under in third place.
Alejandro Canizares made his way into the clubhouse with the best round of the day.
The Spaniard seen here holding for birdie on the 15th, shot an impressive 65 to launch him into a share of the lead going into the weekend.
But he'll have to wrestle the trophy from defending champion Lee Westwood.
The man from Worksop, Nottinghamshire shot five-under for the day, including this birdie at the last, to keep him top of the leaderboard - albeit in conjunction with Canizares.
