Before the game, fans and players from both sides paid tribute to Junior Malanda with a minute's applause - The Wolfsburg midfielder was killed in a car crash on January 11.

Dutch forward Bas Dost opened the scoring in the fourth minute when Kevin De Bruyne picked him out to finish inside the far post.

Bastian Schweinsteiger had an effort cleared off line as Bayern sought a response but Bas Dost scored again on the stroke of half-time after Robert
Lewandowski's failed attempt at a headed clearance from a freekick.

Wolfsburg's third came seven minutes after half-time - De Bruyne this time the scorer, beating Manuel Neuyer one-on-one.
2 minutes later, the visitors were handed a lifeline and pulled one back through Bernat.
