Carver 'happy' with end of the season contract

Newcastle looking for their first win under John Carver when they face Hull City on Saturday.

    Script:

SOUNDBITE: (English) John Carver, Newcastle head coach (on being told that he will remain as manager until the end of the season?)

"I'm quite happy with that to be honest because when I arrived here four years ago, I had a four month contract and within a week I got a five year deal. So, you know, if you do get a short term contract, I don't have a problem with that. I'm quite happy to work under these conditions. I've got enough belief in my ability along with the guys and the good news is that we're getting players back so our squad is getting stronger, so I'm really encouraged by that."

SOUNDBITE: (English) John Carver, Newcastle head coach (on beating Hull City 4-1 away last season)

"I'll guarantee you that I won't be going down there and doing what Alan (Pardew) did. That's for sure. But what I will want is the same performance because I think it was definitely one of our best performances of last season away from home with Moussa Sissoko getting two (goals) and Vurnon Anita getting the rare goal that he popped up at the far post for. So that was encouraging. So a similar performance and a similar result and you'll see a smile back on my face again."

SOUNDBITE: (English) John Carver, Newcastle head coach (on Hull City's poor home record)

"Well I think so. They're at home, the pressure is going to be on them. The one thing I do know is that they're getting one or two players back. They've had this two week break as we've had so it's very difficult predicting what system they're going to play, what team they're going to play but obviously within an hour and 50 minutes we'll know that but we will play on it, yes definitely, because we know what it's like when you're under pressure at home and you're not winning games then you can turn the crowd."
