SOUNDBITE: (English) Asamoah Gyan, Ghana captain:

"First, I would like to thank the players for their fight, you know, it's been really tough in this particular competition - I've played in five African Cup of Nations, but I think this particular one is the toughest one I've ever played. Although I've got more years to play, I think this is the toughest one so far. And I said it yesterday, this particular game is due to mental toughness, we were mentally tough, although we conceded the first goal, we came back, we had to fight throughout the 90 minutes and at the end of the day we won. Secondly, we won this game by experience, although we've got young players, but I'm talking about the country as in a whole. If you compare all the countries, Ghana has participated in a lot of African Cup of Nations, and we've got a lot of experience, and I think that was the main key of this victory. And thirdly, I would like to thank Ghanaians for their support."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Avram Grant, Ghana coach:

"I'm very happy because we came to a group that you (the media) call the group of death, and we are first place in the group, it means that we are still alive."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Ephraim Mashaba, South Africa coach:

"I think it was a good learning lesson for the boys. I mean, we went through the qualifiers, they did very well. We played against some of the best teams in the continent, we played Algeria as well in this tournament. We stood for ourselves. The score there was not a true reflection of the game, we were all over them, we created chances. Come to the Senegal game as well, we created more chances than what they did. Tonight it was a game of two halves, first half we played very well, we got a goal, and come second half we wanted to sit at the back, we created pressure for ourselves, that's how we conceded the goals that we conceded."
