Hosts Australia are through to the Asian Cup final after a two-nil win over United Arab Emirates at Hunter Stadium in Newcastle.

"You know we got a great start. I thought we looked dangerous from set pieces the whole night and then we followed it up with the second. I didn't think we had total control of the first half but that's because they are a good side. I thought we defended really, really well tonight. Our defending was really brave, we kept a strong line. Apart from when they hit the post, I thought we were really strong. And in the second half we got control of the game a little bit more but overall a really good job by the players.

"Nah we just got to score, we didn't score last time and we had a number of opportunities to do it. We had a different line-up that day but after that game we were quite pleased with our performance. We certainly thought we dominated that game even though we didn't win. There certainly wasn't anything negative coming out of it from our perspective. As I said, we had a different line-up but we'll see. They are a good side, of course they are a good side. Whoever makes the final are the two best teams and we're one of them and we have a chance to win a trophy so that's all in our thoughts now."

"Yeah it's a weird feeling. For us we won two-nil and gone through but we think our football could have been better. We definitely have played better in this tournament. When you score early the way we did, we only know one way and that's to attack and it was a pretty exciting game but overall we're really happy to be in the final."
