Fabian Delph talks about his new contract extension at Aston Villa.

SOUNDBITE (English) Fabian Delph, Aston Villa midfielder:

"We talked quite a bit. there was never any pressure put on me, but looking forward to the future, basically and things that Tom (Fox) put to me, I felt really comfortable with. Obviously, I've been at the club a long time and I've got a lot of love for this club. I've got a great relationship with the chairman, like I've always said and I felt like... I feel like this is my club. I feel like I want to be here. Obviously, I'm 25, I was 'on a free' in the summer, but it never really played a big part in my mind what I wanted to do. I know what I want to achieve and the ambitions that I have, I think we can do that here."

"I mean, I feel like I've been treated really good while I've been here and I mean, it wouldn't have sat right with me to leave the club, especially on a free, after the faith that everybody surrounding the club and involved in the club have shown me. I mean, it might sound strange to you, but for me that's just the way I am and I'm here for the future."

"The lads are absolutely delighted. I mean, as soon as I told some of the boys, they looked a bit shocked at first, a few of them, but they are right behind me, they see a lot in me in terms of how I want to go about my career, how dedicated I am and how I want to push on and try to get a bit more out of everyone else. They would do the same for me, so they're delighted to keep someone like me here and I'm buzzing. Like I've said, I don't see these guys as, you know, team mates, just turn up and train, I see them as family, I see them as brothers, I'd run through a brick wall for all of them. I'm really excited I'm here. I'm going to start crying in a minute!" (laughter)
