After Eredivisie leaders PSV won on Saturday Ajax faced Feyenoord at the Amerstam ArenA hoping to keep pace at the top. It was the away side who came close first though, the ball fell kindly for Colin Kazim-Richards but the English-born Turkey international couldn't beat Jasper Cillessen.

The Rotterdam side were looking to close the eight point gap between them and Frank de Boer's team in the second Champions League place.

They almost found a way through in the 39th minute.

Jean-Paul Boetius denied by the face of Arkadiusz Milik.

Despite his heroics the polish striker was taken off shortly after half-time and replaced by Kolbeinn Sigthorsson, Ricardo van Rhijn almost found him with Ajax's best chance.

With just over 14 minutes to go, at the other end Boetius came agonisingly close once again. At first it looks like a great save from Cillessen but on the replay it becomes clear that it was his own teammate Kazim-Richards who kept it out.

So it finished goalless, PSV the winners here.
