  • Intro:

Eugenie Bouchard reaches the Australian Open quarter finals with a 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 win over Irina-Camelia Begu

    Script:

Canadian seventh seed Eugenie Bouchard faced Romania's Irina-Camelia Begu in the Australian Open fourth round on Sunday.

Bouchard won the opening set 6-1, taking a 3-0 lead in the second but with errors creeping into her game - allowed Begu to level the set at 3-3 before
taking it 7-5 to force the match into a deciding set.

With the Romanian unable to sustain that quality of play, Bouchard seized her opportunity.

Playing some of her best tennis of the match, she led the set 5-2 before a strong service game saw her close it out 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 to book her place in the final eight.

She will now face either Maria Sharapova or Shuai Peng for a place in the semi-finals.
