"Yeah it was good. Nice to start off with a birdie, got a little bit greedy on the third and the fourth (bogeys at both holes), you know going for some pins I shouldn't be going for. You learn the hard way through that, but it's nice to bounce back the way I did and it's nice to finish off the round with a good birdie on the 18th. Today eighteen is not a given birdie, so I was very confident getting it up there, I got a nice lie in the rough and I told Zack (Rasego, caddie) I'm definitely not laying up, I'm playing for this. So with all the trust and things I pulled it off and managed to make a good up and down for I think a tie of the lead."

"After a really good round yesterday I felt as if I got myself back in the tournament and then to carry on that form today, you know, kind of keeping my name on the leaderboard going into tomorrow was the main objective of today and I've definitely done that."

SOUNDBITE: Bernd Wiesberger, joint leader
"It's nice to start the day in the lead and hang on to keep it, you know, it's a very packed leaderboard. Everybody seems to be playing really well. And I enjoyed out there, I didn't play up to my best like I did yesterday, but I took the chances when I had to or when I could. Just that bad swing on 16 which cost me a bogey there, so it's really a two-shot swing on a short hole like this. But you know I finished nicely with a birdie and it gives me a little bit of momentum tomorrow hopefully.

SOUNDBITE: Eddie Pepperell, tied fifth (On shooting lowest round of the day, a 7-under 65)
"Yeah I played really well to be honest, that's really the first round over the last couple of weeks where I've felt like my game was good for most, the whole round to be honest. A couple of loose shots, but really nothing to write home about. So it was good, it was a good round, I putted well today, putted especially well, putted some nice footage out there which you sort of have to do around this golf course with the pin positions that were out, it was difficult to make."
