Novak Djokovic, Stan Wawrinka and Kei Nishikori all moved through as well.

It was another sweltering day at the Australian Open on Thursday as the competition moved into day 4.

But, the hottest thing out on court was Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska.

The sixth seed thrashing Swede Johanna Larsson 6-0, 6-1 to move into round three.

Venus Williams also had few troubles.

The American producing a clinical performance in a 6-2, 6-3 victory over compatriot Lauren Davies.

It wasn't quite so straightforward for sister Serena as she faced Vera Zvonareva.

The top seed came close to losing the first set before taking it 7-5.

She then won the second set 6-0 to move passed the second round.

In the men's competition Kei Nishikori had to dig deep in his second round match against Croatian Ivan Dodig.

The Japanese fifth seed came from a set down to eventually triumph 4-6 7-5 6-2 7-6(0).

World number one Novak Djokovic had no such troubles.

The top seed and four-time champion lost just five games as he cruised into the third round with some sublime shot making.

He thrashed Russian Andrey Kuznetsov 6-0 6-1 6-4 in an hour and 24 minutes.

Defending champion Stan Wawrinka also safely reached the last 32 as he beat Romanian qualifier Marius Copil.

He won both opening sets in tie-breaks before taking the third set 6-3.
