Wasps have beaten Harlequins 23-3 in Pool 2 of the European Rugby Champions Cup on Saturday (17th January).

    Script:

Harlequins came into this all-English Champions Cup encounter on the back of an impressive 32-12 win over Leicester Tigers in the English Premiership.

But it was Wasps who took an early lead through the boot of Andy Goode.

Harlequins had the majority of possession and territory in the first half, but Wasps took the two chances that were presented to them.

George Lowe spilled Danny Care's pass and winger Christian Wade wasn't going to be caught.

Joe Simpson spotted the Harlequins defence napping in the 20th minute, for the Coventry-based side's second try.

Quins finally got themselves on the scoreboard with a penalty from their New Zealander outhalf Ben Botica after the break.

The home side continued to press for an opening, but the Wasps defence simply refused to budge.

Elliot Daly's monster penalty from inside his own half sealed the 23-3 win for Wasps.

They'll face Leinster next Saturday in a winner-takes-all Pool 2 decider.
