Australia and England trained and talked on Thursday ahead of their One Day International meeting at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Eoin Morgan, England captain:

"I think we have a reasonable record against them (Australia) home and away. In the past I think the last time we played here the I think the result didn't really reflect in how we played I thought we played some really good cricket I thought off the back of a poor Test series the Australians took advantage of momentum where at crucial times in the series, two games in particular that stood out were probably Brisbane and Adelaide, where there were games we probably would have won in the past but because guys were perhaps low on confidence we failed to get across the line."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Eoin Morgan, England captain (reacting to comments from Kevin Pietersen saying Morgan wants him back in the side):

"I think this is a good opportunity to clear things up given that Kevin has a lot of opportunity to talk in the media to get his point of view out there. I'm very happy with the group of players that I have. I think this is the best group of players we have to drive the England team forward over the next two months in particular. Kevin's situation hasn't changed over the last year it's been re-iterated over months and days, his position. It was re-iterated before Christmas by the Chairman of Selectors and I'm re-iterating it again just to clear it up."

SOUNDBITE: (English) George Bailey, Australia captain:

"We've got more Captains in that side you can poke a stick at which is a wonderful position to be in and I think like Xavier (Doherty) said yesterday every person who's playing regardless of any of the positions will be looking to perform to make a case for retaining them within the 11 pretty compelling."

SOUNDBITE: (English) George Bailey, Australia captain:

"We're actually approaching it very much as a very much cliched one game at a time for the tri-series, try not to look too far ahead, but hopefully if we're playing as well as we can then that will be putting those other two teams on the back foot."
