    Rafael Nadal continued his Australian Open preparation with a resounding three-match victory in an exhibition of the new FAST4 Tennis format in Melbourne on Wednesday (14th January).

    Script:

    Rafael Nadal continued his return from injury in a charity match on Wednesday night.

    After surgery on his wrist and appendix problems, the Spaniard played in the event dubbed the 'Summer Set'.

    The first of Nadal's best of five games, saw him see off 17-year-old Australian Omar Jasika. 4-1 Nadal took that one.

    Next was the big serving 'Scud' Mark Philippoussis.

    The 38-year-old still finding still finding his speed.

    Yet Nadal won this 4-1 following a double fault at sudden death deuce.

    The night concluded with an epic best-of-five set battle between Nadal and his fellow Spaniard and great friend Fernando Verdasco.

    The match went the distance before the 14-time Grand Slam Champion hit this forehand.

    The serious stuff begins on Monday when Nadal goes for his second Australian Open.
