Intro:
England's Andy Sullivan wins his maiden European Tour title at the South African Open in Johannesburg on Sunday (11th January) - after defeating home favourite Charl Schwartzel in a play-off.
Script:
Charl Schwartzel looked to have his native South African Open wrapped up as he took a five-shot lead into the final round in Johannesburg.
However, he had to contend with a man on form, Andy Sullivan.
The Englishman here, chipping in at 12 to move within two shots of Schwartzel.
Worse was to come for the former Masters champion. Here at 16, he took a double-bogey to lead by just one.
With Schwartzel taking bogey at 17, he needed this birdie putt on the 18th to win the title.
He missed it and this led to a sudden death playoff with the players going down the last again.
Sullivan produced a stunning recovery from the trees and then managed to hole a winning birdie from ten feet.
Schwartzel could only finish with a par, giving Andy Sullivan the most unlikely of victories and his first European tour title.
