    Without having a strike a tennis ball in the final, Andy Murray has won the Mubadala World Tennis Championships in Abu Dhabi.

    Defending champion and world number one, Novak Djokovic pulled out of the last round after suffering from a fever, which meant Murray was presented with the winner's trophy;

    UPSOT: "The champion of the 2015 Mubadala World Championships is Andy Murray."

    SOT ANDY MURRAY: "It happens and it's one of the tough things about an individual sport is that you can't just substitute players in obviously, in team events you can do that and it's just unfortunate way to finish the week"

    Before the presentation, the crowd were treated to Rafael Nadal bouncing back from his 6-2, 6-0 thrashing by Andy Murray in the semi-finals.

    Nadal was faced with Switzerland's Stanislas Wawrinka in the third-place playoff

    It was a tight contest, with both players dropping their opening service games in a shaky start.

    The first set went to a tie-break, before Nadal cut loose to win himself the first set 7-1.

    Nadal's momentum carried on into the second and Wawrinka failed to ratlle his powerful play.

    He served for the the set at 5-3 and after failing to capitalise on two match points, Nadal finally won the game and the match 7-6, 6-3.
