Prevc tops German ski jumping qualification

    Slovenia's Peter Prevc comes out on top in qualifying in Oberstdorf at the ski jumping World Cup.

    The Ski Jumping season continued on Saturday, with the Oberstdorf edition of the World Cup.

    Japanese competitor, Reruhi Shimizu, wasn' haven't the best of days as he stumbled on landing.

    Shimizu finishing down in 66th out of 69 competitors.

    Better news for compatriot, Noriaki Kasai.

    He took third with 133 m and 147.3 points. Only 0.1 point behind, his teammate Taku Takeuchi finished fourth with 135 m.

    The second place went to Gregor Schlierenzauer. The two-time 4-Hills winner jumped on 133 m and said afterwards he could go even better in the event.

    The conditions were testing, with strong winds. Yet Slovenian Peter Prevc, showed the longest jump of the day at 138.5 m and scored 148.7 points

    Prevc lies in 5th place overall alongside Swiss competitor Simon Ammann heading into the real event here in Germany.

    The Norweigan Anders Fannemel leads the overall standings, although hasn't finished on the podium for five events.
