A true icon of modern day football, Thierry Henry, has retired after a 20-year-career.

The 37-year-old announced the decision on Tuesday after an illustrious career.

He made his debut for Monaco in 1994, leading the side to the French title in 1997.

The Frenchman then spent the longest part of his career at Arsenal. Winning two Premier League title & three FA Cups.

Henry also scored 175 league goals, putting him fourth on the Premier League all-time record.

In 2007, the striker moved to Barcelona winning a league, cup & Champions League treble in 2009.

Following the striker's stint in New York, Heny had been expected to take up a place on the Arsenal coaching staff.
