Following on from Saturday's Nations Cup, the 2014 Race of Champions in St. Phillip, Barbados concluded on Sunday with the Champion of Champions event.

This pitted the field in head-to-head races around the Bushy Park Circuit in a variety of cars.

An initial field of 16 drivers - including Nations Cup winning duo Tom Kristensen and Petter Solberg- was whittled down to four for the semi-finals.

Nations Cup runner-up David Coulthard faced V8 Supercar Championship Series driver Jamie Whincup in the first semi-final.

Former Formula One star Coulthard clinched victory over the Australian by less than two-tenths of a second.

The second semi-final pitted 20-year-old Pascal Wehrlein - the youngest race winner in DTM history - against Lotus F1 development driver Esteban Ocon.

Wehrlein cruised to victory, finishing more than seven seconds ahead of his French opponent.

The German came up against far more opposition from Coulthard in the final.

A 23-year age gap between the two finalists suggested Coulthard's greater track experience would prove crucial and the Scotsman duly won the first heat by almost a second-and-a-half.

The following heat was a far tighter affair until Wehrlein ran wide in the closing stages.

That slip up handed Coulthard the heat win and with it the title of Champion of Champions.

Wehrlein impressed in a high-class field though and he will be hoping to make his mark in Formula One in the future having been named as a reserve driver for the Mercedes F1 team in September.
