The Windy conditions continued ahead of the second round of the Thailand Championship on Friday at the Amata Spring country club in Bangkok.

Two time US Masters champion Bubba Watson needed an improved performance to make the weekend cut after a disappointing 76 in the opening round.

In tough conditions, Watson proved his class with a round of two-under, that included six birdies and four bogeys in a round of 70, to sit tied in 21st place.

Defending champion Sergio Garcia twice found water from the tee during his round causing two double-bogeys.

The Spaniard fought back though and made two birdies on his way to carding a 75.

    He is now 2-over overall.

The reigning US Open champion Martin Kaymer, playing alongside Garcia, was steady as he shot an even par 72.

The German is joint sixth at one-under for the tournament.

Englishman Lee Westwood played the shot of the day on the par three 8th.

With a stiff cross breeze, his tee shot found the green and rolled to about 3 foot of the hole setting up birdie.

Westwood carded a one-under 71 to move three-under for the tournament and share second place with Marcus Fraser of Australia.

They were a shot behind another Englishman, Tommy Fleetwood - who was one of the few players to shoot a round in the 60s.

Fleetwood made four birdies and one bogey in his round of 69 for a one-shot lead to take into the weekend.
