SOUNDBITE: (English) Y.A.M Tunku Naquiyuddin ibni Tuanku Ja'afar, Chairman, GT Global Race (M) Sdn.Bhd:
(on the advantage of a street race in Kuala Lumpur).
"All the races in Malaysia have been in Sepang, which is very well known for the past fourteen years, and lately in Putrajaya, they had the Formula E. Our is a slightly different, it's more super saloon. And I think this is something that the public will associated with. They drive these cars and people in Malaysia drive very, very fast. And just the 'vroom, vroom effect', you know. Because I noticed in Formula 1 they turned down the noise level. In Formula E you can hardly hear them, you know. But here the 'vroom, vroom effect', by being in the city all the people in malls shopping will suddenly hear this noise and they will come out and watch. The excitement will be there."SOUNDBITE: (English) Simon Gardini, Director, Motor Sport KBR:
(on the challenges of designing a street circuit).
"I always say the easiest thing is you can only out the tracks where the roads are and the hardest thing is you can only out the tracks where the roads are. So keeping a city moving during the build period, getting the city moving straight after the race and then managing to everyone's satisfaction and ending up with a safe track and something that is fantastic and exciting on television all needs to come together to make a city track successful."
