"I'm absolutely ecstatic. To have come here for the second time I managed to beat Mark Bourne, who I haven't beaten before after fourteen tries. I'm in a bit of shock to be honest. But I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I can't wait to get home to Australia to be with my family to celebrate with them."

His compatriot Suzy Walsham was the first woman to the summit of Hong Kong's tallest building, ahead of China's Xue Gan and Hui Ji Zhang.

"So it's been really great race today here in Hong Kong - a lot faster than last year - so that's always a bonus. Big building but really thrilled to win and win the overall circuit again."

Both runners broke the standing records.

It's safe to say they took the elevator back down.
