Donald races into Nedbank lead

  • Intro:

A superb nine-under-par round of 63 ensures that Luke Donald holds a two-shot lead after the second round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge on Friday.

    Script:

Luke Donald has raced up the leaderboard to go 2 strokes in front heading into the final two days of the Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City.

He shot a nine under 63 on Friday with six birdies on the front nine and three more on the back to finish ten under overall.

He's overtaken fellow Englishman Ross Fisher who was the overnight leader. It could have been so different for him after an eagle on the 10th, he was four under for the day, which would have given him a tie for the lead but a double bogie on the 12th and another dropped shot at the 14th meant a solid 70 was all he could manage.

France's Alexander Levy is a further two shots back on six under, he also shot a 70 today to follow his 68 in the opening round.
Danny Willett is on five under and this man Marcel Siem followed up his shot of the day in the opening round with another eagle on day two. A great boost on the second hole but four bogies elsewhere means he has plenty of work to do to catch Donald.
