The Netherlands took on Germany in the Champions Trophy in Mendoza, Argentina with a place in the semi-finals at stake.
It was always going to be a tenacious battle between two of the top sides in the tournament, and it didn't disappoint.
The German team dominated much of the opening two quarters forcing some fine saves from Joyce Sombroek.
But the Dutch slowly began to impose themselves on the match and eventually broke the deadlock in the 46th minute.
Michelle Van der Polis fired a cracking shot into the top right hand corner.
Germany continued to press, but were unable to draw level and the Netherlands booked their place in the final four with a 1-0 win.
