  • Intro:

Ross Fisher, Marcel Siem and George Coetzee reflect on the opening round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City.

    SOUNDBITE: (English) Ross Fisher, England:
"A really good day you know. Myself, Georgie (Coetzee) and Marcel (Siem) we all played pretty solidly. Marcel struggled on the front nine and obviously saw me and George getting it going on the front side and obviously George got off to a quick start with three birdies in three holes. So, we all kind of fed off each other. For myself I felt like I played really solid. I drove the ball really well. Got lots of fairways, hit some real good iron shots in and just felt like myself and Woody (his caddie) really read the greens really well today. There was probably two or three putts where we kind of just slightly under-read, over-read, but apart from that - to go out and shoot six-under, dropping one shot was a bit disappointing, but that was just my only bad shot of the day - didn't quite commit to an eight-iron there on 16, but overall: six-under and I am very very pleased."

    SOUNDBITE: (English) Marcel Siem, Germany:
(on his eagle on the par-four 17th)
"It is always cool. I mean, it was not the best golf shot at all for me in my career but...I aimed there and tried to draw it in and stayed straight and hit the fringe and yeah, I had a firm bounce to the left and and the crowd started to go wild a little bit and it was really cool to hole that one."

SOUNDBITE: (English) George Coetzee, South Africa:
"Yeah, I am happy. Obviously you don't know what to expect coming here for the first time at the Nedbank and to post a nice round on the first round and to hope that it goes well on the weekend, but there is still a long way to go."
