Kuneida and Van Koot win Wheelchair Masters in London

    Shingo Kunieda and Aniek van Koot have won the men's and women's finals of the Wheelchair Tennis Masters in London on Sunday.

    Script:

    World number one Shingo Kunieda was looking for his third straight Wheelchair Masters title when he faced world number seven Nicolas Peifer in London on Sunday.

    Underlining his dominance in the event, Kunieda set to work quickly - powering through the opening set.

    The second unfolded in a similar fashion.

    Kunieda duly claiming the title 6-1 6-1, to complete a superb year, in which he won all four Grand Slams for the fourth time in his career.

    "I am very happy today because not only did I win but I played very good today so I am satisfied with that."

    The women's final was an all Dutch affair with Aniek van Koot facing Jiske Griffioen.

    Van Koot made yet another of the slow starts that has plagued her in the tournament, surrendering her first set.

    In the second she produced a superb comeback, then powered through the decider to take home her first Wheelchair Masters.

    "When I woke up this morning I didn't expect this. Certainly not because she beat me that easily this week so I am so happy, so pleased."
